New Year's Resolutions

As 2013 ends and 2014 begins, many people will come up with a list of New Year's resolutions. Will all of these people keep to their goals throughout the whole year? Probably not. But having goals for yourself is good, and their is no better time to start. One resolution you can have is to go on a cleanse. Try and use organic cleaning products and toiletries. Go with organic food, and throw out the Cheetos. Try and stay active. Once in a while, treat yourself to a pampering night in. By doing these things, you will feel better about where you are in life. The new year is a perfect time for change. Bored of your hair, go for a totally different look. Don't like your wardrobe? Sell all of your clothes and go on a shopping spree. If you happen to suffer from any negative repercussions from any changes you do, at least you have the whole year to rectify them.
Every year, I take an old jam jar and decorate it to fit my room. Whenever something good happens to me, I write it down on a piece of paper and put it in the jar. At the end of the year, I look at it to see all of the good things that have happened to me. Also, if you have a bad day it doesn't hurt to open the jar.
Another resolution is to be a better person. Try and volunteer and food banks or homeless shelters. You learn to appreciate what you have, and helping others will also benefit you. If you see someone in need, help them. Open the door for people, give extra change to those in need, and remember, strangers are only people you haven't gotten to know yet (in a safe way of course). What goes around comes around, so be kind to everyone.
Also, try and take a step back. At night, don't go on Facebook, instagram, twitter, or any other social media. Grab a book a immerse yourself in its story. It will calm you down, and will help you go to sleep quicker. Try and get up earlier as well. Although if you wake up at 5:30 day, maybe keep that wake up time. When you wake, make yourself a cup of tea, and skip the coffee. You don't have to do this everyday, but it would be a healthy change. Waking up is hard, but doing stretches and taking deep breathes will help you to feel alert and ready for the day. If you travel to work, try and plan what you want to accomplish on a personal level. Not what clients you to talk to, but maybe how you want to say hi to someone new.
These resolutions will help you have a better 2014, and hopefully aren't as daunting as some other goals that you most likely won't follow through with.
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanza, or whatever holiday you celebrate! I wonder how many of are staying or stayed up until midnight?
As always,
xoxo Em

Holiday Gift Guide For The Sporty Girl

Even if you have someone in your life who isn't totally immersed in the sports life, they would sure like to receive on or two of these items.
When you see the apple products, don't worry about the expense! iPod shuffles are $50, and can hold many songs. Yoga mats are also a good gift idea, because they can come in handy when doing many things. They are also inexpensive. Cute water bottles are also a nice stocking stuffer idea and gym bags are a must for any sports junkie.

Holiday Lookbook

I've come to the conclusion that outfits just aren't complete without the entire look. Here is one holiday look that is sure to put all eyes on you.

Sorry for the messy layout! I tried to put the shoes at the bottom, the nails near the nails on the model, and the hair piece by the models hair. I did a double update today!

Do's and Don'ts of Shopping

When it comes to shopping, some of us have more self control then others. Follow these tips, and you'll be sure to leave the mall feeling satisfied. Start by having a budget. If you don't think you can stick to that budget, only bring __ amount of cash with you. That way there will be no way to overspend. Also, have a general idea of what you want to buy. If you see something cute that you weren't expecting to buy, do the 2 2 2 rule. Will you like it two days from now. 2 weeks? 2 years? If not, I would wait to buy it. Also, don't let sales fool you! It isn't what you save, it is what you spend. So unless the sale gives you everything for free, think about what you want before you buy it. Also, if you're shopping with friends, don't let them pressure you into buying things! Just because they think you'll like it, doesn't mean that you will. This goes for anything, if you don't love it in the store, you won't like it at home. But do try and brings friends shopping. Unlike some store managers and workers, your friends will tell you if you look good or not in something. Sometimes people who work at the stores just want you to buy their products, even if you look terrible in them. Last but not least, shop until you drop! Even though men may disagree, shopping can be a workout, so make it worthwhile and burn some calories!

As always,

Shopping on a budget

Whether you're shopping for yourself or for others, staying on budget is crucial at all times of the year, especially during the holidays. This post will help you get the most out of your money, on a $60 budget! Lets start with the beauty lovers. An essential part of beauty is lip gloss! The smash box Heat Wave Lip Set comes with four lip colors and is $10. If you're giving these out to friends, they come out to about $2.50 per color. What a deal! Smash box is a quality makeup brand, so you won't be disappointed. The Jingle All The Way makeup set by too faced is a double deal. It comes with 11 eye shadows a blush and a bronzer. The best part (in my opinion) is that this all comes in an iPhone 5 case. In total it is a $94 value, and you can get it for $25. To make the deal better, Ulta ships anything order over $25 for free.  The eye shadows come in neutrals as well as some glittery fun ones. By buying the two of these you are only at $35 dollars. This next item is so creative and smells so good! It is the cocoa butter moisturizing stick by the body shop. When you roll it onto your skin it melts right on. Since it is cyber Monday it is $8.00 instead of $16. Another thing from the body shop that is a good present for a friend is a lip roll on. They have flavors in mint, berry, rose, etc. Usually they are $6, but until 12/3 they are $3. Philosophy sells cute ornaments for $10. The one that is on Sephora (Philosophy). This puts you right below your budget! Stay tuned for gifts on a budget for the athletic people in your life, as well as for your parents and grandparents! I also will be posting Christmas day idea outfits as well as more holiday gift guides!
I hope you all had a good Monday, and weren't too tired. Comment down below what you love most about the holidays!

Holiday Gift Guide For Her

Is it just me, or did November go by so quick?! As the holidays approach, many of us start to think about what they want to give people for Christmas. Or, if you are like me, you are starting to think of what you want for Christmas. This is the first holiday gift guide, as I will also be doing a holiday gift guide for him. All of the links for these items will be under the shopping page, because this would be a very long blog post if I post them all here. This year many perfume lines are starting to come out with hair mists. That way, when you go in for a hug, your hair smells good! One that smells amazing and is good for really any age group is the Flower Bomb Hair mist. It is $45 for a 1 oz. bottle, because you use it instead of a perfume.

Speaking of perfume, there are two perfumes that every girl in your life will love. The first is Our Moment by One Direction. It is very affordable, and now days teen girls would most likely like this bottle more than a Chanel perfume. Another perfume the Viva La Juicy perfume by Juicy Coutre. This one is more sophisticated, but still smells great! Both of these have really creative packaging ideas that will dress up any dresser. A bottle of Our Moment is $60, and a roller ball is $20. A bottle of Viva La Juicy is $90. They are both 3.4 oz.

Another fun gift is the life palette by Michelle Phan. This set comes with 4 individual looks, each with their own blush, lip color, and eye shadows. In total, you get four blushes, eight lip shades, and 24 eye shadows. This whole set is $75, but you can but smaller sets that come with one blush two lip colors, and six eyes hadows ($25).

Next is the Soap & Glory manicure kit.  While looking for where to buy this it was on a British site, and it was 14 pounds. This is about $15.

This works is a great site that sells sleep items. Dream team is one of their products and it comes will a pillow mist and a sleep inhalant that both help you to fall asleep. Together, they are $18.50.
I will be continuing this holiday gift guide throughout the holidays, and will have the links to these stores up in a few hours.
As Always,
xoxo Em
