Recreate Perrie Edwards!

Perrie Edwards is known for her crop tops and unique fashion taste. Today we'll be recreating one of her outfits that has a fun mix of military and bat man. This would be a good outfit for a somewhat warm, lazy day. If you don't feel like showing that much skin, you can "winterize" this outfit. Add some black leggings under your shorts and a black tank under your top. Not only will this keep you warmer, but it make it more season appropriate. If you want to see a recreation of the top two outfits, just ask! Comment down below, or email me!

Happy late Valentine's Day! Hopefully you had a good day yesterday, whether you were with someone or spent your day eating candy and watching ,The Notebook.
As Always,
xoxo Em

Price Tags

We all have those, "I love it moments!" It is the "But not the price tag," that comes after the excitement. Stores give items pricy price tags, but that doesn't mean there isn't a way to get around them! Always keep an eye out for sales, discounts, and coupons! You can also get knockoffs that are just as good, and half the price. Take the Naked 3 palette for example. It is around $50, and that is quite expensive for an eyeshadow palette. Plus, you most likely won't use every color. To start off, try and get the Naked Basics palette.
This palette is only $27, and has good matte shades. It is also very compact and good to take traveling. Another way is to go to a knock off site. Whoelsale Cosmetics sells a replica of the Naked 3 palette for $15!!!!!! The colors are slightly different, but the replica looks identical to the real thing.

Vera Bradley is another one of those expensive stores. Personally, I can tell when someone has a knockoff Vera Bradley bag. Not that it is a bad thing, but you can get real Vera Bradley items for half the cost. Sites give you 1/2 off sales on last seasons prints. 6 pm has $86 bags for $40.

Lotions and body sprays can also be somewhat pricey for what they are. Bodycology is a good alternative. I have to laugh, because whenever the Body shop or Bath and Body works comes out with a scent, Bodycology comes out with the same scent but with a slightly different scent name. Some of their scents include, Blackberry Vanilla, and Spring Rain Blossom. You can buy their brand at Target or online. Their full size lotions are $5.99, and their full size fragrance mists are also $5.99. Most of the other stores have $12 lotions and $14 fragrance mists. I have tried this brand, and it doesn't feel cheap at all. The packaging is cute, and it isn't heavy on the skin.

LUSH is also another good store. I love all of their bath bombs and how they turn my water different colors! The one downside is how little you get for how much you spend. Beyond the Bomb is an organic site that sells bath bombs starting at $3.99. They also have shower fizzes, which I might have to try. Their cupcake bath bombs are around $5.99 each, and are soooo cute!

I hope these stores help to keep your budget in tact! Trust me, if you see something in the store that doesn't fit your money boundaries, I promise that there are cheaper ways to get what you want. From now on I will be putting a *not sponsored* note at the bottom of each post. None up my posts have been sponsored, but this way you'll know that all opinions are my own! Remember, if you have any questions feel free to email me at urbanlifexo@yahoo.com

Finding the perfect scent

Ever buy a perfume that smells amazing, but when you put it on, something just doesn't look (or smell) right? This is probably because you aren't wearing the right smell for your body. Perfumes and body sprays are like clothes. They should accentuate your body, and make you fell confident. I contemplated writing a long blog post about each type of scent and describing what it smells like and what type of people usually go for that smell. But that isn't very personal to you, so I decided to do something better! By clicking this link, (quiz) you'll be transported to take a personal quiz! When you find out what type of scent you are, return here to find out what smells are right for you!

Flirty:
Daisy, by Marc Jacobs is my go to smell. It is light and dainty and the smell lasts all day. The retail price is $92, but it is money well spent.

Warm & Cozy, by Victoria's Secret is more affordable with the price tag at $15. Since it is a body spray the smell only lingers for a couple hours, so it is good for after a workout.

Fresh:

Sea Island Cotton, by Bath and Body Works is a perfect smell for all of you simplicity lovers! It basically smells like fresh washed laundry, which smells pretty good. It comes in spray, which is $14, and this lotion is about $8.

Light blue, by Dulce and Gabbana smells like heaven. It is around $60, which is a good price for perfume.

Intense:

Viva La juicy,  by Juicy Couture has the cutest packaging! On overstock.com it is $32, so you save 50%. I have this perfume in a rollerball, and the scent lasts all day.

Wonderstruck, by Taylor Swift is one of my all time favorites. I can't describe the smell, but it is sweet and musky at the same time. This 1 oz. bottle is $37, and I haven't met anyone who hasn't adored this smell.

Bubbly:

Chance by Chanel is a classic. It is $90, and comes in three colored bottles. The packaging is elegant and simple, and in my opinion, one of the best perfumes there is.

White Citrus, by Bath and Body Works is a very vibrant smell. It is fruity and very strong. It is $4 for a travel size and is perfect for any time of the year.

As always,
xoxo Em
p.s.- there is one typo on the quiz so I apologize! I was watching the Super Bowl :)

DIY Deep Hair Conditioner

During the winter, our hair can turn into a frizzy desert wasteland. To prevent this, your hair needs needs to be nourished. Just like your skin, your hair needs certain vitamins to thrive. For both of these masks you can find all the ingredients you'll need around the house. Personally I get agitated when I see videos and I have everything except one thing! The first DIY hair conditioner is a hair mask that will help to hydrate your hair. You will need a 1/4 cup of olive oil, a 1/4 cup of milk, and 1/2 a banana. Olive oil helps to protect your hair from the harsh winter hair. Think of it as a bubble around your hair. It also softens your hair and removes dandruff! If you tend to have greasy hair, try not to get this mask too close to your roots. Milk acts as a moisturizer for your hair. It repairs dry and damaged hair. If you want a creamier and an ultra hydrating mask, use half and half instead of milk. Now I know what you're thinking. Banana and olive oil? Yes! Banana's mend split ends which is good for all times of the year! In the winter your hair can split anywhere, and banana's help to mend them. To make the mask, mix together the milk and olive oil. Chop up the banana into bite size pieces and put them in. Mash the banana so the mask is like a yogurt consistency. If you don't mash this up enough, the banana could be extremely hard to wash out. That is part of the reason we mix olive oil and banana together. The oil will help to get the banana out. Place this mix into the microwave for about 30 seconds, or until warm. This will help to release some of the vitamins in the oil. Next, bring the mask into the shower and apply it to your hair! Apply it like you would shampoo, unless you have greasy hair. Then, apply it about 4 or 5 inches away from your roots. Leave it in for about 10 min, then rinse it out!
The next mask is a egg and honey mask. This is good for greasy hair because you can apply to your roots as well, Eggs are basically your one stop shop for all of your hair needs. Eggs help to prevent dandruff and give your hair a shiny look. It also gives your hair protein and moisture. Honey locks in the moisture that the egg puts in your hair. It also prevents hair loss! For this mask you'll need two eggs (3 for long hair) and about a tablespoon of honey (two if want the texture thicker). Mix these ingredients together and put it in the microwave for no longer than 5 seconds. Next apply this mask all over your hair your dry, not wet, hair. Massage all over, and then put a shower cap on and leave it in for about 10 min. When you are ready to wash it out, use relatively cold water. If you use hot water the eggs could cook (gross!) and would be hard to get out.
Both of these masks shouldn't be used more than once a week. I tried coming up with many ideas and these worked the best! They helped my dry hair turn into soft smooth hair! I'm all about making homemade body care products, because then you know what is in them! Two weeks until Valentines Day! Can you believe it is that close by? Do you have a special someone this year?
As Always,
xoxo Em
