Beauty Hacks

I remember the first makeup product I ever bought. I was 12, and it was a glitter eyeshadow palette (10 colors) that was being sold at Walgreens for a $1. It opened me up to makeup and beauty in general. I didn't realize it then, but makeup and beauty products in general can get quite pricey. A lip gloss can cost up to $32! Lucky for you, I have been on the lookout for cheap, yet equally stylish alternatives to pricey products.
The first hack is Vaseline. I have talked about the many uses of this item in previous posts, and it is making a appearance again! Rub this on your wrist, and spray on a body mist or perfume. The scent lasts a long time, and you won't have to go out and but for scents all the time.

Going along with the scents idea, perfumes and body sprays can be quite expensive. Why not make your own? You can buy essential oils at any health food store (ex: Whole Foods), and by making a ratio of water to oil, you can make your own scent. My personal favorite is grapefruit, because it smells good and is supposed to make you joyful. (tip: if you have a headache or stomach ache, put a drop of peppermint oil on your tongue. If it is a stomach ache, also put a drop on your stomach. I was on a plane with no Advil and had a major headache, and for some reason I had peppermint oil. I used this, and my headache went right away.)
Lipstick. Always reapplying, and reapplying some more. Before you know it, the product is either gone, or you've lost it. Every time you put more on, the less there is. Before putting any color on your lips, put foundation on it. Yes, you'll temporarily look like a ghost. Then, apply the color. The foundation acts like a glue, and whenever you eat, drink, or lick your lips, the color will stay on longer.

Baby oil/gel. This stuff takes off your makeup just like that. Plus, since it is made for babies, it doesn't sting or cause any pain.

Lipstick can double as a blush. Apply it to your cheeks as you would a cheek cream, and BAM! you have rosey cheeks.

On the flip side, you can use blush as a lip stain. Using any chap-stick, dust a little put of blush onto your lips. Blend it in using your chap-stick.

Sometimes we all like to go bold. There are some days when I want to wear green eyeliner, or just don't feel like buying a new, everyday liner. If you are like me, try using an eyeshadow. These are just like pencil eyeliners, and you can buy an eyeliner brush made for powdered products at any store that carries makeup.

Want fuller lashes without the falseies? After you apply one layer on mascara, dust on baby powder (using a Q-tip) to the base of your lashes. Apply another coat of mascara, and your lashes will look fuller and have way more volume.

I hope this helps you, so that you can spend money on more than just makeup. The giveaway is officially closed, but stay tuned for more! Spring break is getting closer and closer, I can't wait! Do ant of you have plans? Recently I have trying to post more, and put more time into each post. In the near future I am going to be posting a schedule of when a new post will be up. That way, you will know when something new is up! If you want to, do the poll that I have up! I want to make this blog as interactive as possible, so I will also be including more quizzes and activities in my blog!
As Always,
xoxo Em
